What the spec sheet shows
We read the Amazon listing for ASIN B0000BYCGF and Pyrex's "Product Warranties / Safety and Usage" page on Sep 30, 2026. The listing shows the Pyrex store, Simply Store 3-pack, round, with navy blue lids.
| Spec | Value | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Pieces | 6 (3 bowls + 3 lids) | One each of 2-cup, 4-cup and 7-cup. The listing's "13 cups" is those three added together. |
| Glass | Tempered glass | As the listing describes it. It is clear, and the listing says it resists stains and odors. |
| Lids | Plastic, BPA-free | Navy blue snap-on lids. Pyrex's usage page says its plastic lids are not airtight. |
| Nested size | 7.37 × 7.37 × 10 in | From the listing's item-dimensions field. |
| Set weight | 3.7 lb | Glass is heavier than plastic, which is worth knowing for packed lunches. |
| Warranty | Limited 2-year | Per the listing's warranty field. |
What the standards and sources say
No certification applies here. The document that matters is Pyrex's own use-and-care page, and it gives the glass and the plastic lids very different rules [1]:
| Where | Glass bowl | Plastic lid |
|---|---|---|
| Refrigerator / freezer | Yes | Yes |
| Microwave | Yes (no popcorn, browning wrappers, or heating it empty) | Yes, but vent or loosen it at least ¼ inch to avoid warping |
| Conventional / convection oven | Yes, preheated only | No |
| Stovetop, broiler, grill, open flame | No | No |
| Toaster oven, air fryer, slow cooker, pressure cooker | No | No |
| Dishwasher | Yes (load so it can't bump other items) | Yes, top rack |
The biggest caution on that page is sudden temperature change. Pyrex lists three main risks with glass: breakage from sudden temperature change, breakage from impact, and burns from handling hot cookware. Its specific rules [1]:
- Don't move glass straight from the freezer to a hot oven, and only put it into an oven that has already reached temperature.
- Don't add liquid to hot glass, and don't set hot glass on a wet or cool surface, a metal surface, a countertop or in the sink. Cool it on a rack, a dry potholder or a dry cloth.
- Don't handle hot glass with a wet towel or wet potholder.
- Let hot glass cool before washing, refrigerating or freezing it.
- When cooking something that releases liquid, add enough liquid to cover the bottom of the dish first.
- Stop using any piece that is chipped, cracked or badly scratched.
On lids, Pyrex adds that tomato and acidic sauces can stain the plastic [1]. How long leftovers keep depends on the food, not the container, so follow the fridge and freezer guidance for the food itself.
"Oven-safe glass" only covers the bowl in a preheated oven. The lids can't go in the oven at all, and neither part can go on a burner, under the broiler or in an air fryer. If you want one container that goes from freezer straight into a hot oven, this isn't it; Pyrex says to avoid exactly that jump.
How to set it up and keep it up
This is Pyrex's own use-and-care sequence, summarized.
Wash before first use day one
Wash the bowls and lids with a soft sponge in warm, soapy water, rinse, and let everything dry completely before adding food.
Cool before you close and chill every batch
Let hot food and hot glass cool before the container goes into the fridge or freezer. Set hot glass on a dry cloth or rack, never on a wet or metal surface.
Reheat with the lid vented every reheat
In the microwave, set the lid ajar by at least ¼ inch or take it off. For the oven, take the lid off, and only put the glass in once the oven is preheated.
Wash gently after each use
Dishwasher or by hand, with lids on the top rack. Use non-abrasive cleaners and plastic or nylon pads only, nothing metal. Check the rims for chips as you put them away.
Price and where it is sold
On Sep 30, 2026 the listing showed the Simply Store 3-pack (2, 4, 7 cup) with navy lids at $17.80, shipped and sold by Amazon.com, In Stock, with a free 30-day refund or replacement return window. There are no parts to replace on a schedule. The Amazon listing also shows other Simply Store set sizes if you need more pieces. Prices change; this is a dated snapshot.
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone who needs a leak-tight lid for soups in a bag. Pyrex says its plastic lids are not airtight.
- Air-fryer and toaster-oven cooks. Pyrex rules out both for this glassware.
- Anyone who wants the lightest possible lunch container. Glass weighs more than plastic.
